Volatility (Evaporation) (ASTM D-5800) SAE 50 Results
1. Higher temperatures produce greater volatility (evaporation).
2. Increased volatility causes increased oil consumption and emissions.
3. Oil is first heated to 250° C for a period of 60 minutes.
4. Air is drawn through the container holding the oil sample to remove vapor.
5. After 60 minutes, the remaining oil volume is weighed.

6. Comparison to initial oil weight.
7. A lower weight loss score indicates better performance.

Viscosity Shear Stability (ASTM D-6278)

1. Oil's initial viscosity is measured.
2. Oil is tested under shearing forces.
3. Measurements are taken at the end of 15, 30 and 90 cycles.
4. Comparison to initial oil viscosity.
5. A flatter line indicates a better shear stability.

Lubrication Nation: AMSOIL introduces OE Synthetic Motor Oil

Lubrication Nation: AMSOIL introduces OE Synthetic Motor Oil

AMSOIL introduces OE Synthetic Motor Oil

AMSOIL announces a new line of attractively priced synthetic oils available in three different viscosities. OE Synthetic Motor Oils provide excellent protection and performance throughout the entire length of original equipment manufacturers’ recommended drain intervals.

AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oils, fortified with friction modifiers, are designed to provide better fuel economy compared to conventional motor oils and reduce friction-related energy loss. It promotes proper operation of catalytic converters for optimum service life and low exhaust emissions. It is fortified with high levels of detergent and dispersant additives to resist sludge and carbon deposits, promoting clean operation for longer lasting engines.

An increasing number of vehicle manufacturers are recommending drain intervals beyond the traditional 3,000 miles with some recommending up to 12,000 miles with electronic oil monitoring systems. AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oils resist chemical breakdown for maximum wear protection(and peace of mind) well beyond the traditional 3,000 mile oil change interval.

OE Synthetic Motor Oils are a cost-effective alternative to conventional motor oils while furnishing vehicles with the same high and low temperature protection, increased fuel economy and better wear control as other leading AMSOIL synthetic motor oils.

AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oils are available in SAE 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 viscosities in quarts, 30- and 55-gallon drums and 275 gallon totes. The new competitively priced motor oil is rated API SN, ILSAC GF-5, with the SAE 5W-30 viscosity recommended for the new GM dexos1 specification.
Recommended for use in all types of gasoline-fueled engines.

Colder nights here in PA...

If you have a diesel truck, car, loader, mower...well, you get the idea.  It's going to be that time of year when you need to make sure that your diesel fuel doesn't gel up in freezing temperatures.

"How do I do that???", you say - well, Amsoil has the solution.  If you are already using Amsoil's Diesel Concentrate to clean, lubricate and improve your fuel system, then you need to switch over to their Diesel Concentrate PLUS COLD FLOW IMPROVER before the outside temperature bets below freezing.

AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is formulated with excellent detergency properties to help keep injectors, rings, piston crowns and the fuel pump lubricated, plus lowers the cold flow filter plugging point (CFPP) by as much as 34 F (19 C) in ultra-low sulfur diesel.  What does that mean for your truck or equipment?

AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is specifically formulated to improve the lubrication of fuel system components, improve fuel flow for better cold starting, help maintain fuel integrity and prevent the fuel filter and injectors from clogging. Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is recommended for diesel-powered vehicles, home heating oil and kerosene heating systems.

Having a Landscape construction business, I put it in my trucks and loaders - By using Amsoil DC w/ CFI as well as Amsoil's Fully Synthetic diesel oils, I have an advantage over my competitors, and even with a broken block heater wire harness, I was able to start my truck for almost 2 months through the cold snowy winter without any trouble...Amsoil gives me peace of mind knowing that it does it's job and I can concentrate on doing mine.

Family Fun Day & Car Show

Today was a beautiful (but windy) day here in West Norriton, PA.  Classic, antique and muscle cars, hot rods, custom trucks, modified and stock bikes will fill the Valley Forge Marketplace’s parking lot on Saturday, October 2nd during the Family Fun Day and Car Show

White Horse Auto
The family from White Horse Auto in Norristown had their cars (and massive transport rig and trailer) on display.  Coincidentally...he uses Amsoil in the rig AND the race cars...maybe that's why they're so fast!

The Amsoil booth was a hotbed of action (as usual) and met many friendly car owners, attendees and vendors!

White Horse Auto
Proceeds from this Family Fun Day and Car Show benefited the West Norriton Township Police Association, who help provide flu shots to the elderly, support an annual food drive, Toys for Tots, and contribute to Township Little League teams.

COOL weather and COOLER cars!

Today I had the pleasure of spending this fine fall day in at my nice little booth in Malvern PA at the 3rd Annual East Whiteland Car and Motorcycle show.  It was a beautiful day, and there were plenty of classic and modified cars to look at and quite a few bikes as well.  Other noteable "rigs" were the huge Forcine Concrete pumper truck, as well as Charlestown Paving, Abel Brothers Towing and Aquilante Concrete just to name a few.

The show located at the Penn Liberty Bank was sponsored by American Muscle and Chest County Corvette Club and was hosted by the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Company and the proceeds benefited them as well as The Lord's Pantry of Downingtown.
